Is it known if the retrovirus found by Dr. Elaine DeFreitas in 1991
is the same as XMRV? Thank you in advance for all replies.

Elaine DeFreitas's virus was reported to be similar to HLTV-2, which is a deltaretrovirus, while XMRV is a gammaretrovirus. So, it doesn't seem to be the same virus. There are also reports of spumavirus type retroviruses in CFS/ME patients.
