A well stocked pantry, fridge and freezer can make all the difference
in the world when it comes to creating a great meal. It is necessary
to have the basics in order to cook delicious food! If your pantry,
fridge and freezer are appropriately stocked your chances of creating
a great meal are very good!
In my opinion, every cook should have the following list of
necessities. Spices should be purchased in small containers as they
will lose their flavor as they age. However, spices that are used on a
daily basis, such as salt and pepper should be purchased in the larger
container.
Make sure to replenish your pantry on a regular basis and replace
everything you use up. There is nothing worse than wanting to create a
dish and not being able to do so because one is missing a couple of
ingredients.
CONDIMENTS: Sea Salt Granulated Sugar Whole Black Pepper Brown Sugar
Apple Cider Vinegar Rice Wine Vinegar Balsamic Vinegar Soy Sauce Red
Wine Vinegar Honey Worcestershire Sauce Molasses Mayonnaise Mustard
(Regular and Dijon) Ketchup
OILS: Olive Oil Peanut Oil Canola Oil Dark Sesame Oil Cooking spray
Vegetable Oil
SPICES: Dried Oregano Ground cumin Dried Basil Chili powder Cinnamon
sticks Dried Thyme Turmeric Paprika Bay leaves Ground coriander Curry
powder Ground cinnamon Garlic Powder Chili pepper flakes
MISC: All purpose flour Frozen French Fries White rice Frozen diced
carrots & peas Cornstarch Frozen peas Brown rice Frozen corn
Tomato paste Tomato sauce Chicken Bouillon Beef Bouillon Different
kinds of pasta such as spaghetti, macaroni, shells, etc. Lentils and
beans Canned fish such as tuna, anchovies and salmon Parmesan cheese
Of course, you will be purchasing fresh ingredients such as meats,
dairy, vegetables and fruit on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Enjoy your
kitchen and happy cooking!
