balanced my bank accounts each month (I say this merely to establish that
doing this is not strange to me). This month, for the first time in what
must be over 200 reconciliations, the Starting Bank Balance (i.e. the ending
bank balance from the previous reconciliation) was out. I have updated this,
but I want to check back to find out where a mistake was made.
Is there anywhere in the application I can see records of each
reconciliation to find out where the problem is?
And is it possible that the records of the coconciliations have become
corrupted?

really deleted (in any robust database and hence in Money) - but are simply
flagged to be disregarded - I don't think you can look into Money data and
see such records (cf TAS accounting software).
Do you have backups made before the most recent balancing that you could use
to compare? If so, I would be inclined to (re)enter this last month's
transactions and check what happens when you invoke the 'balance' routine.
All my experience, where there has been corruption or strange behaviour, is
to rebuild from the last known good backup. I never feel 100% confident that
I can remove ALL corruption from any suspect file.

Not that I know of.
And is it possible that the records of the coconciliations have become
corrupted?
Yes. First see if Money do File->RepairMoneyFile->QuickFileRepair
helps.
Also try temporarily setting your View to show only unreconciled
transactions. See if some older transaction shows up that should not
be there.
The starting balance is the sum of the initial balance plus all
reconciled transactions.
See if Money the register gives different balance when
the view is changed to show only unreconciled transactions or
in some other way. If it does, post back.
