Is this a system with multipathing of some sort?

what is the error you get when you try to format a disk?

how i can solve this problem,

Hi there,

Do you issue the command #format in single user-mode (booting it from
solaris 10 u8 DVD) ?

If that's the case, please use earlier version...e.g .Solaris 10 u6 or
u7...this will do the trick.

Cheers
Charles

Hii

I do nt remember the exact syntex. Please use the dd command to remove
the vtoc. and then devfsadm or reconfigure reboot. This will solve
the problem.

Thanks
Alok
