My Last Trip Report

I used to post here and read here a lot. This newsgroup is one of the
best resources there is for getting the most out of the Disney parks.
And, I have been a huge Disneyworld fan.

But, things change. As much as I love the place, our once a year
pattern is probably coming to an end. So, I will be back when I can,
but it is never going to be the same.

Thank you all so much. And enjoy that magic for me.

No the END! That's so terminal. Andy and I have been going to WDW alone
without kids for years and still look forward to it. And there are lots
of us RADPers who are sans kids too. More fun for you and Debbie.

Thanks for the TR too. Love the photos and the commentary.

You obviously love WDW too much to say goodbye forever! This probably
won't be the last trip with your kids either. Funny how the old they
get, the more they love it too. It sounds like you put your heart
into each and every trip and you can't deprive yourself of that for
whatever reason. Once a year is good. I hope you will change your
mind.

Joe,
It doesn't HAVE to be the end, just the beginning of a change. Every
time I went before we had kids (single, dating, married-no kids), We
would go open to close to get our absolute money's worth. We would
stay on the cheapest motels on 192 we could find. We didn't go beyond
whatever park we were visiting. Then, once I got married and went
with our kids (our current phase), we tried staying at a Disney Resort
(first one was Port Orleans Riverside). What a difference, and for not
too much more $. Yes, we have stayed off property but since we are a
family of 5, we look for the "suite" hotels. There is one behind Old
Town that is quite nice furnishings (so so location) and less
expensive than Disney. If we can't get a deal at Disney, we go there.
I look forward to going with just my wife again for longer than a
fri-sun weekend, staying at different resorts, trying different
activities/experiences. Doesn't have to be go go go in the parks all
day long, every day. I'd like to take the time to enjoy the rest the
resort has to offer (golf, behind the scenes tours, different dining,
nightime entertainment, etc).

I wouldn't mind a solo trip for 3-4 nights to resort hop during the
holiday season, take photos, do what I want to do instead of trying to
please everyone! (I know, it's a little selfish and it would take a
LOT for me to go and do that...ESPECIALLY my wifes blessing!)

Yes, the IS a great big world out there to visit, a lot of truely
spectacular, wonderful places to go. You don't HAVE to give up
Disney, just share your vacationing time with different destinations.

I've found that if I visit too frequently, I kind of get bored with
going. I think..."the Magic Kingdom AGAIN?" ugh!!! Then I kknow it's
time to wait a while before I go again. Last visit was 7/2009, next
not until winter 2011 at least (unless we win the lottery!) I'm
starting to feel the desire to go back. I enjoy reading others trip
reports and picture myself being there.

So, it's doesn't HAVE to be the end just a change in how you
experience the Walt Disney Resort and all it has to offer. Reminisce
about all the great (and not so great...yea they exist!)times you've
had there with your kid(s) and enjoy! I think you'll be back!
Greg

(still have 2-15 year old boys and an 11 year old boy at home. We
daren't leave them at home alone yet!)
