What document would the wife of a naturalized husband need to re-enter the USA?

Several of my married ancestors were naturalized before the 1922 Cable Act.
They traveled to Europe together after 1922 (but before 1935). The husband
had the one passport in his name only. What, if any, document might his wife
need to enter the USA?
